Collingwood Real Estate and Homes for Sale

As a real estate agent who specializes in Collingwood, let me be your guide to what Collingwood Ontario has to offer as a neighbourhood to finding homes for sale in the area.

The town of Collingwood is situated near Georgian Bay's southern point on Nottawasaga Bay and is located in Simcoe County. Because it is located near Blue Mountain, the town is well-established as a 4-season tourist destination but is also one of southern Ontario's major outdoor recreation areas. The town also sits in close proximity to Wasaga Beach which is another popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Suffice it to say, many first-time visitors have fallen in love with Collingwood and eventually relocated there.

Collingwood has a very inviting, vibrant atmosphere about it and has long been recognized for its sense of hospitality. It is also rich in culture and history and displays a great sense of pride in its Downtown Heritage Conservation District which boasts a broad variety of boutique shops, entertainment venues, restaurants, and other community services. In fact, many of the buildings and structures in the DHCD have been restored and look much like they did a century ago.

As the town is situated along the waterfront, this provides residents with numerous boating, fishing, and outdoor recreational opportunities. It is also recognized as the employment, entertainment, and retail hub of Simcoe County. With the Blue Mountain Ski resort, the private ski clubs of Alpine and Craigleith, and the numerous golf courses in the area, you can understand why Collingwood and the surrounding area is a favorite destination for locals as well as tourists.

If you have children, there are a number of elementary and secondary schools both private and public to choose from as well as Collingwood Collegiate Institute which is the home to over 80 instructors and 1,400 students. The town was recently ranked on two different lists namely the 27th Best Place to Live in Canada and 54th Best Place to Live in Canada overall.
